India Biodiversity Award 2018 & Khlo Blai Chyrmang Community Reserve” received the Best Soldier of Conservation Award 2018 for Protection of Flora and Fauna through the medium of the Community Reserve.

Meghalaya Biodiversity Board nominated the UMRU BMC of Ri Bhoi District under the category ‘Conservation of Wild Species- Institution’ in which the Award Selection Committee recommended the aforesaid committee for ‘Special Mention/Appreciation’. The award ceremony was held on the 22nd May, 2018 on the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity in Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural SS University (PJTSAU), Hyderabad.
