Phlangwanbroi was conferred with the State Level Best Biodiversity Conservation Award & State Level Award 2023 for best BMC was awarded to Umtngam BMC, Bhoirymbong Block, Ri Bhoi & Daphring Songthiang of Khwad village surrendering the license gun

Shri. Tyngshainlang Dewkhaid, BMC Secretary of Phlangwanbroi was conferred with the State Level Best Biodiversity Conservation Award, 2023 for protecting and conserving of Western Hoolock Gibbon (endangered) and its habitat at Hima Malai Sohmat for seven years.
State Level Award 2023 for best BMC was awarded to Umtngam Biodiversity Management Committee, Bhoirymbong Block, Ri Bhoi District for protecting and preserving the rare species called Hoolock Gibbon.
Daphring Songthiang of Khwad village, Mawkynrew Block, East Khasi Hills District, in appreciation for recognizing and understanding the importance of biodiversity conservation and protection by surrendering the license gun used for animal hunting in 2023.
